Why Can't We Blow on Hot Drinks?

What would you do if you had a cup of hot chocolate that is really, reaally tempting but way too hot  that you couldn't even get to sip it? blow it perhaps...!

  Rasulullah S.A.W prohibits his followers to breathe in a cup filled with water or to blow hot drinks

  However, these are the things that we often practice without even notice it

  Technically, water itself, is composed of H2O, a molecule that build up water by the hydrogen bonding between oxygen atom & hydrogen atom. While the breath that we exhaled is composed of CO2.

  When we breathe or blow directly to the water,

H2O + CO2  --->H2CO3

  The water molecule will then combine with carbon dioxide, forming an acid called carbonic acid. We all know acid is harmful to us. Even the hydrolytic enzymes in our tummy can sometimes hurt us... The good news is carbonic acid is a weak acid, therefore it is very weak. The bad news is..
  • carbonic acid melts the earth
    •  carbonic acid poisons the oceans
    This means that  carbonic acid can affect our body in silence. Therefore, take Rasulullah S.A.W eating habit as a good example.
